Active Bradford is proud to announce the inaugural Bradford Sports Awards, sponsored by Provident Financial Services.
This prestigious event will celebrate the inspiring achievements of Bradford’s sporting heroes in 2015, from our professional sports clubs and future stars in the making through to the grassroots volunteers who make sport happen every day across our district.
Bradford is a vibrant, prosperous city through sport and physical activity and our aim is to celebrate the rich diversity of our sporting culture and achievements.
Eighteen awards across five categories will recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals, teams and volunteers at every level of sport in Bradford. Members of the public are encouraged to nominate and give their club, daughter, school, event, coach or even workplace the opportunity to have their accomplishments highlighted.
The nominations period is now officially open and nominations can be made online at www.activebradford.co.uk. Paper Nomination Forms will also be distributed throughout the district. The deadline for nominations is 23:59pm Sunday 13th December 2015. Finalists will be announced shortly after the nominations deadline.
The Bradford Sports Awards will take place at The Bradford Hotel on Thursday 25th February 2016. The event will be a ticketed Black Tie Dinner with a professional sports host. More information on ticketing will be announced in the lead up to the Awards.
The event also coincides with the start of a new era for Active Bradford as a new website, identity and strategy towards making Bradford a more active district are unveiled.
Our objective is for the Active Bradford logo to become instantly recognisable and we feel that the coil could become synonymous with and an iconic symbol for Sport & Physical Activity in Bradford.
The new www.activebradford.co.uk website will launch at the same time as the Bradford Sports Awards. Our intention is for the website to develop over time to become a hub for all things related to sport and physical activity in the district. Our ‘Strategy for Sport and Physical Activity in the Bradford District’ will be available to view and download, as well as other relevant sporting strategies. There will also be a ‘What’s On’ page displaying a range of opportunities to get active in Bradford.
An Executive Summary of the new ‘Strategy for Sport and Physical Activity in the Bradford District’ will be revealed on www.activebradford.co.uk before the end of 2015.
Active Bradford is a partnership of organisations committed to making Bradford a healthier and more prosperous place to live and work. We are driven by our vision of a culture across the district where physical activity is an everyday part of everyone’s lives. Each partner develops and delivers a wide range of opportunities to be active; they come together through Active Bradford to collectively promote opportunities to be active, connect organisations and their work and influence broader strategic plans.
