We are looking for an experienced, skilled and enthusiastic Behaviour Change Senior Research Fellow to be part of the team working specifically on the Bradford Local Delivery Pilot (LDP).
The Bradford LDP is an initiative which aims to improve health and wellbeing for children and young people in some of the most deprived communities in Bradford by promoting physical activity. Born in Bradford (on behalf of Active Bradford) is one of 12 sites in England which has been chosen to work with Sport England to create innovative solutions to make it easier for communities to access sport and physical activity.
This is a once in a life time opportunity to be part of an initiative which will have real impact on improving the health and well-being of children and families. The post holder will part of the Born in Bradford (BiB) team (an internationally acclaimed applied research programme), the Bradford Institute for Health Research (a national centre for excellence in health research – and work alongside Active Bradford – a registered company made up of multi-sector organisations from across the Bradford district who are committed to working together to increase the number of people being active and playing sport in Bradford
The Senior Research Fellow will contribute to effectiveness and implementation evaluations of interventions to promote physical activity in 5-14 year olds and also lead the development of new, innovative, theoretically informed interventions. They will develop study protocols, collect data, manage and analyse data sets, write reports and academic papers, liaise with collaborators, attend project steering group meetings, and contributing to future research proposals. They will support the community teams to develop logic models, monitoring and evaluation plans, collect data in a timely manner and undertake “Citizen Science”. The post-holder will work in collaboration with members of the Bradford Institute for Health Research, Born in Bradford, Active Bradford, local families, academics, and other stakeholders both locally and nationally.
