JU:MP Festival, Peel Park 29th June
Hundreds of families took to the park on the 29th June in a fun afternoon of activity. Dancing, cycling, tennis, cricket, outdoor play and much more was on offer and the young ones in our area didn’t hesitate to get involved!
Each child was given a trail card in which they were encouraged to take part in at least 4 of the activities in order to claim a prize, ranging from a frisbee to a small cricket set. The prizes were chosen to give the families something to use away from the Festival and keep moving. Almost 500 cards were collected by the end of the event, with many children doing more than 4 activities.
A massive 2,500 minutes worth of activity was undertaken altogether!
JU:MP Community Engagement Manager for the area, Caroline Swain is excited about what’s to come: “It was wonderful to see so many children and families enjoying the sunshine and the activities, joining in, moving and playing! This is just the beginning. There will be lots more activities to come in the community to support families to find their passion, to find what inspires them to get out, get active and get involved.”
Peel Park will be hosting free activities weekly from 6th July. Keep up to date with what’s happening by subscribing to the JU:MP mailing list through www.joinusmoveplay.org or follow JU:MP on social media:
