The School Games is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in more competitive school sport.

The West Yorkshire School Games consist of a winter and summer festival and several stand alone competitions.

The winter festival takes place at Leeds Beckett University on Saturday 12th March 2016 where 1800 pupils from schools across the county will take part in an Olympic style opening ceremony and then compete in one of 7 sports competitions.  Sports involved are basketball, boccia, cross-country, hockey, netball, rowing and table-tennis.

The summer festival takes place at Leeds Beckett University on Tuesday 5th July 2016 where 1200 pupils from schools across the county will take part in an Olympic style opening ceremony and then compete in one of 11 sports competitions.  Sports involved are Athletics, Boccia, Cheerleading, Cycling, Football, Gymnastics, Golf (Tri-Golf including disability), Netball, New Age Kurling, Tag Rugby, Tennis.
