Our Sport England local delivery pilot, JU:MP, is looking to work with an organisation or group of organisations to deliver a JU:MP Leads Programme within the JU:MP area of Bradford.
From research and consultation carried out over recent years, local leadership has been identified as a key component of successful asset based community development and while there are already some excellent examples of this working well in the JU:MP area there was clearly a need to develop more local leaders to build capacity.
The JU:MP Programme, in consultation with Sport England, have chosen to pilot the JU:MP Lead programme which will test training and supporting young people aged 16 – 25 years to develop as a local physical activity workforce. The long term aim is to create local leaders who can deliver sustainable physical activity programmes in their local communities.
The main deliverables are:
- To train at least 20 local young people aged 16 – 25 years to deliver and facilitate informal physical activities. For the purpose of this tender physical activity refers to a range of activities such as multi-sport, adventurous play, street games, dance, cycling and walking.
- The training will provide young people with both recognised qualifications and knowledge, skills, confidence to deliver informal physical activity in order to develop as social entrepreneurs
The contract value is between £100,000 and £110,000, inclusive of VAT and the programme will be delivered over one year, starting in 2022.
The deadline for applications is 9am, Tuesday 3rd May 2022.
