Our Team

Active Bradford is made up of a number of member organisations who support our vision and are committed to working in partnership to make it easy for people in the Bradford district to live an active, healthy life.

Three times a year senior representatives from these organisations meet to work together on achieving this aim; horizon scanning, making the most of the connections and influence that each organisation has and to work together as a collective.

Currently the member organisations are:

  • City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council
  • Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Born in Bradford)
  • University of Bradford
  • Bradford College
  • Yorkshire Sport Foundation
  • One In A Million
  • International Mixed Ability Sport

Charles Dacres and James Mason lead the work of Active Bradford, as co-chairs.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors meet every two months to ensure proper governance of Active Bradford as well as seeking to develop and progress our strategy, ensuring Active Bradford is fulfilling its role to influence, connect, communicate and deliver.

Operational staff

Active Bradford's main role is to influence local, regional and national policies to ensure people in Bradford can choose to be active and connect partners in the district to support our strategy through regular Partnership Events. We also deliver the Bradford Sports Awards each year to recognise and celebrate sporting and physical activity achievement. To do this a number of operational staff are needed.
